We were thrilled to see Camphill Newton Dee Village featured on the Facebook page of the World Economic Forum. They even made a video to go with it which you can see here. The video focuses on the power of inclusion through meaningful work.
Power of inclusion
A person’s work is a big part of who they are, helping to give them self-esteem and a sense of purpose.
Sometimes people say that only work for which you are paid a salary really counts. In Camphill we know this is not true, as this video shows. Working for the love of what you do often gives the deepest satisfaction.
15% of the world’s population has a disability, and 50 – 70% of people with a disability are unemployed. Yet, as the WEF video points out, they are often the best employees – performing better, working longer and turning up more often.
Clearly, the World Economic Forum thinks Camphill has much to teach the world about the power of inclusion.
