Why ecology and the environment matter to Camphill
Type: PublicationsTopic: Camphill | Ecology and sustainability | Meaningful work | Mental health
A focus on ecology along with care and consideration for the environment have been at the core of the Camphill movement from the very beginning, 80 years ago. Camphill has espoused a way of living that society today aspires to, as we seek to reduce our impact and demands on the natural world, and live together in a way that benefits our physical and mental wellbeing.
Camphill understands that the natural environment, our built environment, and our lived environment, can have a significant role to play in shaping healthy lives, and in creating and developing sustainable communities. The way we work, the influence of the outdoors, the benefits of green space and attention to food and nutrition are addressed by each Camphill community in Scotland.
Find out what ecological activities and environmental projects Camphill communities in Scotland are taking, and why, in our new publication.
