Safety first at Milltimber Brae

Type: News
Topic: Camphill | Policy and legislation
Community: Camphill School Aberdeen
Published on: 12th March 2019

Children and young people attending Camphill School Aberdeen regularly use the busy roads around Milltimber Brae, and were concerned about road safety issues particularly with the expected increase in traffic following the opening of the new City bypass.

Together with Councillor Wheeler, the Convenor of Aberdeen City Council’s Education Committee, we looked at road safety issues for the children and young people attending Camphill School Aberdeen, and for other members of the local community who are using the old railway line and crossing Milltimber Brae.

No matter the weather we were all keen to get this right, and a group of children and young people and staff from Camphill School Aberdeen met Councillor Wheeler to discuss our concerns.

Alex Busch, Director of Camphill School Aberdeen, said:

It is fantastic to see Milltimber Brae crossing made safer! We are all delighted by the swift action taken by Councillor Wheeler and his colleagues at Aberdeen City Council to address these important road safety issues, and to make sure that all members of the local community can use the crossing more safely.
