The National Autistic Society awarded Camphill School Aberdeen an Accredited Award for their services in February 2020. The committee noted that the school provides person centred services with “excellent levels of participation from the individuals being supported“. The report went on to say that:
… therapeutic approaches are integrated into an academic and skills based curriculum
… staff made good use of a number of communication support strategies…they interact in ways that reinforce a sense of self worth, dignity and self esteem
… young people are given the space to be themselves and are encouraged to celebrate their personal achievements and to explore personal interests
The National Autistic Society conducted a survey with parents/carers and the feedback was “overwhelmingly favourable”
