Community: Simeon Care for the Elderly
Published on: 9th September 2019
Following on from local MP Ross Thomson’s visit to Simeon Care for the Elderly last month, Thomson raised a question in the House of Commons asking the Leader of the House
May we have a debate that would celebrate and recognise the important role of international volunteers in our communities, so that charities such as Simeon can flourish?
We appreciate MP Ross Thomson highlighting the “wonderful work” of Camphill Simeon and their international volunteers. While Jacob Rees Mogg, Leader of the House of Commons, gave a positive response to Ross’s suggestion, he noted that Ross will need to apply to the Backbench Business Committee for a debate. We are waiting to find out if time will be allocated in the House of Commons for a debate to recognise and celebrate the important role of international volunteers.
