Newton Dee welcomed back local MSP, Maureen Watt, to the community on 3 June 2019. Ms Watt visited Newton Dee to celebrate Volunteers’ Week with members of the community.
During her visit Ms Watt met a group of volunteer co-workers likely to be affected by Brexit, and heard about the potential impact of Brexit upon Newton Dee and the other Camphill communities in Scotland.
Speaking after Ms Watt’s visit, Ulrike Mall of Newton Dee said:
We were delighted to welcome back our local MSP, Maureen Watt, to Newton Dee during Volunteers’ Week.
The visit gave Maureen an opportunity to meet staff, volunteers and members of Newton Dee community. Maureen was able to hear first hand about the invaluable contribution made by volunteers from the UK, from other EU countries, and from non-EU countries, to Newton Dee’s work in supporting members of our community with learning disabilities and other support needs.
Her support for our work is greatly appreciated by everyone at Newton Dee.
