Corbenic

I applied to other Camphill’s but after seeing Corbenic for the first time on the internet there was a special click and my heart told me to go there.  I am super grateful and still fulfilled by this magical experience.

About the community

Our Community has been a home for people with social, emotional, intellectual and learning disabilities in the heart of Scotland since 1978, providing day and residential care in beautiful surroundings near Dunkeld, Perthshire.

Corbenic is a Scottish registered charity where individuals live and work with others in healthy social relationships, based on mutual care and respect. Over the years it has developed into a community of approximately 120 people, 43 of whom are adults in need of special care. Set in 100 acres of land, we are made up of seven households and a variety of workshops.

As an independent charity, we are part of the worldwide Camphill family and are dedicated to providing a holistic residential environment that meets the social, physical, emotional and economic needs of residents.

Real life stories

What volunteering at Corbenic meant for me!

Corbenic volunteer

I wanted to do some meaningful work abroad for a year. I had no experience with people with special needs. That’s why I was insecure in the beginning and whether it was right for me to do. But now, after spending a whole year in this wonderful community, I know that there was no need to worry before.
