The latest research by an independent research company to find out what people think about Camphill services in Scotland elicited a huge response. Over 220 people took part and the results were very encouraging. We have summarised the outcomes in this quick read leaflet.

The right to choose where you live
We welcome the Scottish Government’s determination to ensure that good quality care and support is available in every area of Scotland for people with learning disabilities. As reported by BBC Scotland earlier this month, the Government have commissioned research to address the scandal of people with learning disabilities being forced to move away from home […]
Camphill model receives positive evaluation
We commissioned an independent research company (Why Research) to discover more about what parents and carers, local authorities and third sector organisations think about Camphill. We asked the researchers to focus on those with most influence over whether people are able to come to Camphill or not: the local authority and parents and carers. Impressive […]
Time for Radical Change
Robin Jackson’s report Reforming Social Care: Time for Radical Change, published by the Centre for Welfare Reform, once again gives us lots to think about. The report provides a wide ranging and trenchant critique of social care policy and practice in England. There is a very positive vision too alongside the critical analysis. In Chapter Five, […]
The Results Are In!
Our end of year reflections were very much enhanced at Camphill Scotland Council this week when we heard a presentation from Why Research on the results of their research into the reputation held by Camphill communities in Scotland and by Camphill Scotland. Two hundred and twenty six people responded to the online survey, which is […]
Camphill calls for protection of EU nationals immigration status
Camphill Scotland and the Association of Camphill Communities in Scotland (AoCC) have jointly published a report focusing on the potential impact of Brexit on our member communities. EU nationals make a significant contribution to many Camphill communities in Scotland as employees and as volunteer co-workers. Indeed, most communities rely heavily on EU nationals working and living […]
Back to Bedlam? Key Report on Learning Disability
The Centre for Welfare Reform has published a damning report on the state of learning disability practice and policy in England. It is very much worth reading from a Scottish perspective too. The author of the report, Robin Jackson, sets out to show that: Successive governments in the UK have ignored people with a learning […]
Just how good are we?
We have commissioned a survey to find out how Camphill communities in Scotland are viewed by a range of stakeholders. There are only a few days left in which to complete the short, 10 minute, confidential survey. We would greatly appreciate contributions from anyone who can offer an informed view of Camphill from an external […]
Just how good are we?
We are very pleased to announce that we have commissioned independent research, by Why Research, on how awareness and perception of the ”˜Camphill brand’ affects decision making about care provision in Scotland. There are two stages to the research. First there is an online questionnaire. We want to get this to as many people as […]
