A real life story from: Milltown is a nice place to live and I am very happy here

My name is Duncan and I would like to tell you a little bit about my life at Milltown.
Milltown Community is in the village of Arbuthnott, three miles from Inverbervie. It has three different houses – Milltown House, Peesies Knapp and Grassic View which are surrounded by gardens, trees and lots of farmland.
I moved here in September 2000 after living at another Camphill community. I share the house with three other tenants who I get on well with. I have my own large comfortable room where I like to relax with my DVDs and music.
There are lots of co-workers here and I enjoy seeing them all throughout the week.
My typical week at Milltown
During the week I go to Milltown Day Workshop where I have more friends. I take part in crafts, gardening and lots of other activities. I have a free day too and I like to go to Montrose, Arbroath, Stonehaven or Aberdeen where I have a look in the charity shops, go somewhere nice for lunch and buy some personal items. I am well known wherever I go and usually bump into an old friend. When the weather is nice. I like to go outside and watch the farm machines going about their work. I also like to watch the buzzards flying over the fields.
Weekends here are quite relaxing. I like to go to football when possible or to the pub for a game of pool or darts. On Sundays I go to the church at Arbuthnott or Inverbervie with my friend. We have a new minister and he has supported me to join the church as a member. On Sunday evening we have a roast dinner.
Community life
We like to come together as a community to celebrate the seasons such as Easter, Christmas, Halloween and family day in the summer. These are busy times with lots of fun and food.
Milltown is a nice place to live and I am very happy here.
Duncan wrote this piece before the Covid-19 lock-down so most of the activities he describes here are currently on hold but will hopefully resume again at some point soon.
