Camphill School Aberdeen were delighted to host a visit from the Care Review team this week, as the Scottish Government launches the independent review of the care system. The review, led by Fiona Duncan, is focusing on all aspects of the care system, and will propose changes to “improve both the quality of life and outcomes of young people in care”.
The Care Review Team visited Camphill School Aberdeen for a whole-day, providing an invaluable opportunity to ensure members’ experiences and insights inform the ”˜root and branch’ review. The team visited workshops and houses, enjoyed lunch cooked by a couple of young people, and had conversations with both current and former children and young people and with parents of current and former young people.
Following the visit Camphill School Aberdeen’s Executive Director, Laurence Alfred, said:
“The feedback from the Care Review Team was very positive, so let’s hope that the experiences they had during the visit will help make Scotland a better place for ‘looked after’ children in the future”.
