The Social Pedagogy Professional Association (SPPA) held three events in Scotland at the end of September and these were well attended by a wide range of organisations. Representatives from five Camphill communities in Scotland, Tiphereth, Camphill School Aberdeen, Milltown, Blair Drummond, Ochil Tower School and also Camphill Scotland, attended the SPPA’s annual conference in Edinburgh.
Shared values
It is very clear to me that the ethos and value base of Camphill is similar to that of SPPA and that we in Camphill can find a modern home within the organisation, as it seeks to gain professional recognition for the way we live and work together with those with additional needs.
Become a member
Having been elected as a trustee of SPPA I would like to urge individuals and individual Camphill communities to take out membership either personally or as an organisation. Without an increase in members the SPPA may not be able to continue long into the future as its current funding stream will cease in April.
Please visit the SPPA website to find out more about the organisation and the membership categories.
If you have any questions about SPPA please contact me via email. Don’t hesitate, do it today!
