Concerned about the impact of Brexit upon health and social care? Want to find out more about the potential effects of Brexit on the health and social care sectors across the 4 Nations?
Camphill Scotland, the Alliance of Health and Social Care Scotland (the ALLIANCE) and SCVO are hosting an event on 11 October 2019 to launch the European Union Withdrawal (Evaluation of Effects on Health and Social Care Sectors) Bill.
Brendan O’Hara MP is progressing the European Union Withdrawal (Evaluation of Effects on Health and Social Care Sectors) Bill as a Private Member’s Bill on behalf of Camphill Scotland, the ALLIANCE, SCVO and our partners totaling 104 organisations across the UK.
The Bill would require the UK Government to make arrangements for an independent evaluation of the impact of Brexit upon the health and social care sectors across the UK, and for a copy of the independent evaluation report to be submitted to the UK Parliament. Camphill Scotland, the ALLIANCE, SCVO and the organisations supporting the Bill believe such an evaluation is necessary to help shape and inform planning and decision-making in the health and social care sectors across the UK post-Brexit.
Event Invitation
We hope that representatives from a wide range of organisations will be able to join us on the day, and to participate in the discussions around both Brexit and the key issues raised by the Bill. The keynote speaker will be Brendan O’Hara MP, and, amongst other speakers, a co-worker from Camphill Newton Dee will talk about his experiences.
The event will take place between 10.30am and 12.30pm on Friday 11 October 2019 in the Albany Centre, GCVS, 44 Ashley Street, Glasgow. Lunch will be provided.
Places at the event are limited, and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please confirm to Andrew Strong, Assistant Director of Policy at the ALLIANCE, by email at andrew.strong@alliance-scotland.org.uk on or before 9 October 2019 if your organisation would like to attend.
