Camphill calls for independent review of Brexit impact
Type: NewsTopic: Camphill | Policy and legislation
Published on: 12th October 2017
Camphill is calling upon supporters across the UK to write to their local MP calling on them to support an amendment tabled by Joanna Cherry MP to the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill on behalf of Camphill. The amendment would require the UK Government to consult the Scottish Government, the Welsh Government and the relevant Northern Ireland departments before making arrangements for an independent review of the impact of Brexit upon the health and social care sector.
Camphill Scotland believes this amendment is necessary to determine the full impact of the legislation upon the health and social care sector. This, in turn, will help to ensure that the strategic planning and decision making of Governments, local authorities, third sector organisations and other key agencies across the UK, in relation to the impact of Brexit on the health and social care sector in their respective nations, is fully informed and shaped by robust evidence.
