Our FAQ page covers the most common questions we come across. If your question isn’t answered there, please contact us.
Camphill Scotland is the membership body for Camphill communities in Scotland.
Each Camphill community is an independent registered charity.
Camphill is an outward-looking social movement with values that resonate with current social concerns including the value of community, disability rights, ecological sustainability, inclusion and an international outlook.
Camphill continues to value its international connections and centres are ready to give a warm welcome to volunteers from across the world. EU volunteers now need a visa before they travel to Scotland.
The Camphill centre you apply to will help you to navigate the visa application process. The process may vary depending on which centre you apply to.

Camphill wants to keep everyone safe from getting or from passing on coronavirus, and centres have been doing this really well so far. Camphill centres follow the UK and Scottish Governments’ legislation on travel to and from Scotland. Currently (February 2021) you will be required to quarantine on arrival at the centre before you can move into the usual volunteer accommodation.
All centres have developed new ways of working and you will receive training and be expected to comply with these measures in order to keep everyone in the centre safe.
Each Camphill community in Scotland is an independent charity, managing their own admissions.
Visit the Find Your Place page on our website to find out more about each community.
You can contact any community that interests you and they will guide you through the admissions process, letting you know if they have any vacancies and whether they operate a waiting list.
If you and the community both wish to proceed, contact us for further information to support your case.
