Tigh-A'Chomainn is a Camphill community providing a home for young adults with special needs. Their aim is to assist the residents in exploring their personal potential and their limitations, so that they may find purpose, direction and a sense of fulfillment in their lives.
Co-workers and residents share a common home and work closely together as an extended family in all aspects of daily life. There is an appreciation of the uniqueness of each individual and their particular spiritual and personal qualities.
Residents are expected to have some measure of independence in personal care, domestic capability and self-reliance. Residents go out five days a week to daytime activities elsewhere - for example, work experience, sheltered work placements, training schemes or further education.
Residents are generally encouraged to go out for social and cultural activities, either individually or in groups. It is important that residents have time away from regular routines and experience different situations. Each resident has at least four weeks' holiday away from Tigh-A'Chomainn each year.
There is a single respite room registered for persons aged five years and upwards.
